Starlink sounds a bit math challenged... if it goes up 30 to 120 or alternately goes down 30 to 90 then what was the starting price? Sqrt of pi to the e?

When we got Starlink it was $105, then after a year it went up $15 to $120. So, I believe the $105 is the base the price adjustments work off of.

They are unlikely to disappear, but their markets are already shifting. There are a variety of remote monitoring applications (IoT) that do ok with the geostationary satellites, though dish size can be an issue for some applications. The low data rates allow the geostationary providers to have more customers at lower bills.

I think that last mile service provision is a major challenge, which is why you see the Federal government spending so much to accelerate its deployment. I think that the analogy to the 1936 REA (Rural Electrification Act) is appropriate. It improved the lives of farmers, helped them be more productive, and there were widespread benefits. I would also point o North Carolina's early efforts in the late '80s and '90s to bring high speed internet to schools and remote areas as an example of the huge benefits that can happen.

I just saw an article that Echostar is on the verge of Chapter 11.

I just got my Starlink equipment yesterday. I'll set it up this morning.

Quick question on the phone app. Can it be controlled/monitored from multiple phones? The Starlink is in my name, but I travel a bunch, and my wife might need to check it too, when I'm away. Can we both download the app and have access?

I can sign in from both my ipad and iphone.
