My Apple II circa 1980 has never crashed or needed to be rebooted either.

This morning I have no Starlink Internet connection and there is something unusual in my wifi settings, a network called "stinky." I first did a reset on the router (unplug 3 times) then tried to setup the router with network name and password, but it was not finding the SL router.

I do have the ethernet adapter plugged into my mesh network, so I removed the network adapter and plugged the dishy cable directly into the SL router. There is no recognizable Starlink router that appears in my wifi connections, only STINKY and my mesh networks.

I selected the STINKY network and the SL "Create Network" page appears, but at the very top of my phone screen there is text saying captive.apple.com STINKY then the Create Network screen appears.

There is also text at the bottom of the screen that I have not seen in past restarts of the system.

Any idea what is going on here?

Definitely compared to your modem of 40 years ago.

But so easy, it almost has no instructions, just follow the pictures. Try for location with no obstructions.
Easy install and setup. Plug & play. Find the best location for an unobstructed view. For me routing the wire under and into the house was my biggest hassle. I paid a neighbor’s kid to crawl under there. 😂

HOWTO Factory Reset Starlink Dish & Router

If you encounter any issues during the setup or use of your router, you can factory reset it. The router will take a few minutes to reboot, and will require you to reconnect and set a new Network ID and Password.

Circular Starlink: Gently push the button on the bottom of the router until the light turns blue and release.

Rectangular Starlink: Power cycle Starlink (unplug the router from power and then plug back in) 3 times in a row. The router will take a few minutes to reboot, and will interrupt your service until you set up again. You can expect the light on the bottom of the router to be illuminated when complete. There are no lights on the front of the router.

So starting with the unit unpluged from the power source, plug it in and unplug it 3 times and it should clear and go back to factory default settings.
You may wish to uninstall your phone app and reinstall it clean.

One moment, please...
Also it looks like you got a good reset STINKY is on of the default names with no passwaord required according to the above link.

THANKS! I reconnected at things are working again with a direct connection to th SL router. In the past I did not use bypass mode with my mesh system and everything worked fine. So, I'm going to try that again and plug the mesh into the ethernet adapter and hope things work as they did before, but thanks for the info on the STINKY name.

I was surprised at the STINKY name also.

My first was an Osborne, a sewing machine like computer that was pricey for the day and ran the CPM operating system.
