I signed up on Feb 8 and put my deposit down waiting for the full payment to be taken and shipping notice.

Ive been signed up for several months, no updates, nothing. Every once in a while I'll get an email telling me to go to Starlink's site and order the package. One email even stated that I have about 15 minutes to order due to low supplies. Took me about 2 minutes to see the email, click the link, enter my address... only to be told that supplies have run out.

You gotta be quick.

But what really ticks me off is my buddy, who lives in suburbia, did get it. He ditched cable internet for Starlink and boasts how wonderful it is. I have crap internet where I'm at. $170/mo for Viasat satellite which I blow though their 150Gb plan in about 2 1/2 weeks, then I get throttled. I wish I had cable internet! Starlink is my salvation, cheaper, faster, more reliable (so far). But SpaceX does not care exactly where you are, or what your current internet connection status is. They have a "first come-first served" mindset.

Kinda wish they would do what Tesla has done: pre-order. I would put a deposit down for Starlink to get a guaranteed system when it comes available. Instead I have to sit on my email waiting, like trying to be the 9th caller on the old radio shows to win tickets to a concert.
I feel your pain Man. I signed up for a Starlink email subscription in June 2020. I thought they were going to send updates, etc. to let us know what they are doing. It has been 9 months and haven't received a single email update from them ... no transparency. 🔍 Hopefully that attitude will change when they finish beta testing and evolve into a genuine business.

I dont think putting the dish up higher will decrease the latency anymore. Least not that much higher. 🤣

I'm surprised to see a Starlink antenna mounted on a mast like that with no apparent obstructions around. One of the things that seems to be a benefit with Starlink is a more 'straight up' orientation for the satellites. Maybe they just had the mast from a point-to-point wireless ISP setup and decided to re-use it.
