that's way out of my price range. We've applied for that line of site type also, but we're blocked because of trees, and geography. Guess I'm stuck with the hughesnet stuff till the phone co. decides we're worth connecting dsl to.

I may have missed the posts, but do you get a good cell reception?
Try verizon or sprint for mobile broadband connections. Both vendors offer a 3rd Generational protocol called EVDO which is now under revision. This MAY be offered in your neighborhood. One would have to check the coverage maps
at both vendors sites.
