Thanks for all the reply guys. I dont want to say whats its going to be on just yet. But its not a vehicle or tractor or anything ive seen before for that matter.
There was a mention of blowers that come with a diesel engine already. What are some manufacturers? I would really prefer to buy something rather than fabricate all of this.
It will be primarily used for snow left behind in a driveway from a city plow. So it sounds like 50hp or around that is what I will want.
The problem dealing with the End Of Driveway Monster is three-fold, the first problem is the freeze thaw cycle, the second problem is ice
being picked up from the shoulder of the road and dumped in the driveway and the third problem is rock salt or other deicing chemicals.
First and foremost the three problems will not go away. Second you need torque and weight and adhesion to clear snow with ice laden snow.
Before you waste any time or money on a motor for a PTO snow blower spend some time on the snow blower forum.
You need a 2 stage snow blower that is heavy in weight with V bar snow chains on the tires to clear the end of driveway mess.
Spending the money on a 14 horsepower 28 inch cut Toro 2 stage snow blower with a weight kit that bolts to the auger housing and V bar chains will do this for you as long as you clear it in half passes AND blow the ice and snow on the side of the driveway that goes with the traffic to prevent the plow from pushing the old snow and ice back on your driveway entrance.
The patented anti clog feature on the toro two stage snow blowers prevents ice and snow packing in the impeller paddle housing and the discharge volume is always the same as the paddle fan will always spin at the same speed and discharge the snow evenly and cast it far. Using fluid film spray to coat the chute and impeller housing will double your casting distance as well.
A large width motorized snow blower is going to need a V belt drive system and with that comes issues with torque and the lack of it when dealing with heavy dense snows.
