Question:
Storing my Kubota B7800 with the backhoe stabilizers in the up position, I find one of them has dropped down to the ground. No leaks, hydraulic fluid is full and clean.
What might cause this?
Thanks,
Fred

Cylinder is letting a little fluid pass by the seal, pretty common. If it bleeds down in hours that's probably a bit too much, but if it takes days that's not surprising.

I had this happen and now use a rubber bungee to keep them up when stored.

Takes a few days for them to start dropping a little and then it goes fast because there is more leverage/weight as the arm extends.

One guy spent money to have his cylinders rebuilt and found the problem was in the spool valve control...

That's why the big Hoes... have locks on them. :D

I really like the spring loaded stabilizer locks WaxMan made though..........

MY out riggers had a hole through them so I put some eye bolts through the holes and use a piece of swing set chain to hook them together to keep them in the upright position. Works great.

Hey Deano, Good idea using a bungy cord. Probably the next best thing to Duck Tape. :)
Thanks for the tip,
Fred :)

Waxman definately has it going on, those look great.

One of the stabilizers on my L48 leaks down to the ground in about 48 hours. The dealer rebuilt the cylinder with new seals - no difference. Don't waste your money doing the same.

I use the cheap ratchet strap method. A bungee cord on the L48 just won't hold those heavy stabilizers.

Sorry... guys with "non" subcompacts need heavier solutions:ashamed::ashamed:

I use a ratchet strap on mine as well. Works great
