Spring....errr....Winter Weather!

Well, two days ago here in Alberta we were sitting at 16 Celsius. The sun was shining, the snow was rapidly melting and I was busy repositioning the gravel on the driveway with the rear blade. Today, however, it is currently -3 Celsius and we've had over 6" of snow fall in the last 12 hours or so. We can expect another 2 or 3 inches by the afternoon. Looks like winter is here....STILL /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif/w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif

Weird, it's 21 Celcius in Montreal right now - tomorrow we're expecting a high of 30 (86 F)!!

Just checked it out - it's not too bad. I kind of like the fact that it will rain Friday. I'm working on a lawn roller and want to use it before the ground dries up - hopefully this weekend.

Here an Lancaster PA we has 82 and sunny. The girls were practicing soccer in sleaveless T shirts, complaining about the heat and wishing they had more Gatorade. Its been a weird winter we will probably have frost next week just to screw everything up.

I cleaned the air-conditioning system in the house, new filters, etc. day before yesterday and turned on the air-conditioner for the first time yesterday afternoon. I also put the cages around the tomato plants yesterday. Already eating nice sized green onions from the garden, need to pick some turnip greens, blackberries are in full bloom, as are several varieties of my wife's flowers in the yard, and of course, the bluebonnets and indian paint brush along the roads in the area. Low temperatures at night down in the low 60s; highs around 80F.

I wonder if we're going to have a really warm summer this year? Here in Southern Wisconsin, we had a record high of 87 yesterday and today they're talking hitting 88! I don't even have my snow shovels stored for the summer yet!/w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif

Hi all,

Here's the update....final tally was between 24 and 30 cm depending on location. That's about 9 1/2 to 12 inches. That is the most snow we've had in a single dump in a LONG time!!! Course now we'll all start complaining about how wet it is....after several years of complaining how dry it is! /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif

I'm thrilled!!! My dugout (pond) is full and overflowing with water backup way up my creek and running out the other end. No shortage of lawn/garden/tree water this year!!!

The skiing has been phenomenal in the Rockies (Banff/Jasper) this year. The most snow they've had in years, lots of powder. Spring skiing will indeed be excellent and extend for a while longer than normal. Nothing like going down the slopes in shell pants and a t-shirt/sweatshirt. Way better than all bundled up!
