I have a cheap hitch mounted spreader that I had because it always jams and is hard to control the flow. I am wondering what other solutions there are out there that don't cost an arm and a leg. I was thinking a cheap solution would be something that allows me some control over the flow of sand from the dump bed since I don't have to broadcast just need to stream it out when I plow.

thanks

snowex makes reciever hitch models that will spread sand. Also you could look into the big tailgate models of sanders and modify your own in someway. I use a fisher speedcaster 2 for sanding and a snowex 325 for salt. You could also just shake it out with the bucket is how we used to do it.

thanks - I am tempted on the bucket except our driveway is 1500 feet long with a 15% grade so I'd rather have a quicker solution!
