Sprayer sprayer advice needed

Might want to consider a boomless sprayer. Agri Supply has them:

Tractor Supply I think has them also.

It has 3 nozzles that each can be cut off and on individually. You can change the angle of the outside nozzles that changes the distance they spray, the center nozzle is fixed and sprays out the track of the tractor. I use it to spray a gravel path using the center nozzle and one of the outside nozzles turned down to give the width I need. It also works great spraying out a wooded area where you want to keep the underbrush down. I spray roundup mostly with it. I use a roller pump off the tractor pto.

AgriSupply can help you size a pump and ship it all to you.

The pump has died, trust me...
Ok, then...

So after buying a new pump, the first thing you need to do is to check the wires to make sure you have 12 volts at the new pump. Not that some of that wiring looks a little suspect, also, not to mention that 5 cent fuses blow pretty easily since you are dealing with water and electricity.

Good luck with the spray... let us know how it turns out. :)

Give Ryan a call at BxPanded. He can probably set you up with something really nice for your tractor. I didn't catch what model tractor you have. I have gone through all sorts of stuff on sprayers and have had several different setups and sizes for my farm and my house. For my house my BxPanded quick on sprayer mount should be the ticket.

Don't make yourself crazy with this project. You know what you have now works, just replace or repair the pump and be done with it. Forget about adding solenoid valves, more plumbing and other complications for now, stick with the manual components.

As far as the uneven spraying, does each individual nozzle have a tip strainer? Is there a strainer on the suction line? Having both would be best.
If the homemade boom is using standard teejet spray nozzles just install some new XR8003VS nozzles together with 50 mesh strainers. This is an 80 degree flat fan nozzle which will work good at 12-15 inch nozzle spacing. If your nozzles are more like 20 inches apart use XR11003VS nozzles.

After you get it working good again you can think about adding more exotic controls and features.
