Split pipe on cutting edge of my MT125 for pushing snow.

Well maybe Doofy you hit the nail on the head here. Figure out a way to use the Edge Tamers that I have and put a squeegee of some sort to go between them. That would do the job. Also I'm thinking about maybe welding some "hard face" on this area of the pipe. This is definitely a work in progress. But the piple absolutely solved the problem of the cutting edge hitting cracks or joints. Plus in reality it's cheap.
Lisa, I just watched a "Ratchet Rake Snow Edge" video and it appeared to do no better job than your split pipe. They only lasted about 32 hours. Looked like just a block of plastic. Sno-Way snow plows used a rubber edge and they worked well, I think. Unsure how long they lasted.

Well Doofy you and I must have watched that video together. Very interesting concept. They have a new 54" size that would be perfect for my tractor. They tested it to last 30 hours on their test rig. I would say my "split pipe" edge protector will last about 4 hours. I'm not giving up on my pipe idea but "The Show Edge" is very cool and won't damage the asphalt or concrete. But I can also improve my technique on using my "split pipe". Maybe I don't have to float the bucket and "set" it to just off the surface. If the surfice changes and you touch it's no big deal. I'm gonna save "The Snow Edge" product information but for now the pipe is working perfectly and I just have to lean to use it better. I'll make sure how it all goes.
