Maybe you need some type of heavy rubber squeegee type material to complement the pipe.
Well maybe Doofy you hit the nail on the head here. Figure out a way to use the Edge Tamers that I have and put a squeegee of some sort to go between them. That would do the job. Also I'm thinking about maybe welding some "hard face" on this area of the pipe. This is definitely a work in progress. But the piple absolutely solved the problem of the cutting edge hitting cracks or joints. Plus in reality it's cheap.
Lisa, I just watched a "Ratchet Rake Snow Edge" video and it appeared to do no better job than your split pipe. They only lasted about 32 hours. Looked like just a block of plastic. Sno-Way snow plows used a rubber edge and they worked well, I think. Unsure how long they lasted.
