Well I spoke with Spencer yesterday, but he's finishing up today and heading out around noon so we won't be able to meet this time.

But--he'll probably be back in MN in the near future so with some advanced notice (he's going to let me know next time he's headed this way) we'll put together a Midwest TBN meeting.

I also had the pleasure of meeting Spencer. He stopped by last year and we chatted for a few hours. He got to see and operate the infamous M246 FEL before I finally got rid of it. My wife took a picture, but I can't get it under the 100k limit for an attachment on TBN.

Actually, I had planned on having at least the hat with me, and probably the shirt too. But that was based on the fact that Spence didn't think he'd be rolling in to town until 5 p.m. or later. Well, he made really good time and called me around 3:10 p.m. to tell me he was only about 15 minutes out! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

So we made plans for me to come straight out to the restaurant to meet him, which meant that I didn't have time to go home to get my stuff! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I guess that just goes to show you that you must ALWAYS carry your TBN stuff with you, because you never know when you might need it! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hey, makes me think that maybe we need to talk Muhammad into offering some type of travel bag with the TBN logo on it! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Well Spencer went out of his way some and stopped down here in Rochester. He will probably have an extra half hour on his trip back home because of it. But he will see some different scenery. You all have to meet this guy. I really don't think there is too many guys out there as nice as this guy. It was really great spending time with this guy as he is very interesting and fun to be around. I am sure he will post a picture of us in the next few days. If you ever get the chance to meet him go out of your way to visit.

Bob, thanks for giving me the call to try and arrange a visit. I will try to give you advance notice next time I have a job up in your area. I usually don't even know the exact date of the job until a day or maybe two ahead of time. I travel a lot by night so that makes meeting up extra difficult. I have travelled past Paul Broadway's (S1120) place twice now in the last few months but it has always been late at night. Bob Ancar (rancar) lives like an hour north of Paul and I hope to meet up with him too someday. I've tried twice to meet up with Steve Dewey (Hazmat) but the first time I ran out of time and the second time he had previous engagements. I know it took at least two tries and maybe three before I met up with Danny (Mosey) down in Indiana. I just went by his place again twice last month but again it was late at night. This was the second time that I tried to meet up with both Garry (Golfgar4) and Murph (thcri).

PJ, you never know I might get out there someday. I did my first job in California this year. I also worked down in Birmingham Alabama for the first time this year. I got to meet up with Paul Burns (PBurns) while I was in Birmingham. We had a nice meal on his lunch hour at a local restaurant. I will be working down in Florida later this spring for the first time in probably 7 or 8 years. I use to work down there now and then but I kind of priced myself out of that market. If I get a job near Montana I'll let you know. You've done some impressive work with your Power Trac and I would love to meet you and see your place in person.

Frank, I was thinking about you when I went past Buffalo as I was on my way back to Michigan on my last trip out to Boston. I travel through Canada to cut an hour or two off my trip. If I get by there during a reasonable hour I will let you know. I spent the night in Syracuse the night before and it was 15 below zero!
