Has anybody had experience with removing the spark arrester on a Kabota RTV 500. My manual says to clean ever so often which tells me that it can stop up and cause performance problems. Does it make the unit louder?

It's just a screen, but like a dryer filter, it can clog...I'd pop it out every oil change, it's easy...Mine never had anything in it in the 1.5 years I had my 500...Lack of one shouldn't cause any noise issues...Just watch running on public land without an arrestor.

What about Kubota filters and such. Does anybody know of a good aftermarket supplier. I tried Stens and they sent me a K&N air filter that they said fit, but it does not. I looked at the K&N sight and they do not list one for the 500. I got an oil filter and it says it is for a Honda. I don't think Stens is up to date on their catalogs. I have searched and it looks like Kubota has a lock on their parts.
