Has anyone made spare keys for Bobcat CT series tractors yet? I am wondering if a local locksmith or hardware store has a blank key for Bobcat.

I'd call the dealer, most tractor keys are one fits all, I know Kioti are and since they make the zbobcat tractors I'd bet the same goes for them.

One size fits all. My dealer grabbed me a couple out of a basket of keys. There not real durable though, I've already busted one. Actually my 4 year old son bent the key in something. I need to hang them alittle higher.

If you post a picture of your key I will tell you if a Kioti key will fit.
We sell a set of keys for $7.70:eek:pretty cheap assurance huh:D

FWIW Bobcat Skid steer/MX keys fit the tractors and Case Skid steer TLB Keys too. The "handle end" is the only difference.

Yes I know they stick out farther too.

Take your old key with you to the dealer. The keys are not all the same. If you have to drive very far and end up taking a key back because it is not correct that spare key can get expensive. Not to mention the wasted time. I learned this from experience.

I went to a local lock smith and the guy really had a hard time coming up with a blank that would match my CT230 OEM key. He cut the spare key and said "well, this would be a really long shot but try it". I asked how much. He replied "Nothing for now. If it works, you can pay me later. If not, nothing".

I brougt it home and tried. It would turn only to the CW direction (which is just fine) with some stickiness but not to the CCW direction at all (to activate glow plugs). I was afraid damaging the key hole on the tractor and was just about to throw away the spare key. Then, I compared the spare key with the OEM key found that the spare key had an uncut shoulder about 1/8" at the hand grip side. I ground it off and now it works smoothly on either direction.

When my dealer switched out my 225 for another 225 the salesman told me to keep my keys. He said they were the same..and they were. The tractors were built about a year apart. I hope he didnt regret the gesture back at the dealership, they had no tractors on the lot.
