I was watching RFD TV today and one old guy had 500 running JD tractors... Lived in Montana... Most under roof! Goal was to have one of every JD tractor ever produced! Another guy had 150 Farmalls running in his yard... Amazing story!

Saw a similar RFDTV show recently. Don't know where those retired farmers get the $$$$ to build those collections. Especially JD collections since JD collectables are extremely pricy.

weren't me.

No play money right now anyway... and with the way the economy and my job is going.. none in the near future! :(

In any case.. as someone esle said.. them JD's are expensive. I've heard they grind up 1000$ bills to make the green pigment for the paint ;)

Talk about tankers... I did a service on my ford 5000 and NH 7610s last weekend .. had to buy the crankcase oil by the case.. and the the UTF oil was something like 48+ qts per tractor!!!

If I had a mess of tractors.. I suspect they'd probably be fords.. :)

Buy by the drum, cheaper.... 55 gallons of 15W-40. I always have a drum (or two). Granted, I can go through a drum in about a year and a half...... (doesn't help when a Cummins diesel takes 6 gallons of oil..... & have 3 engines to change oil in! And that doesn't count the tractors either.... )

(Same boat, play money getting extinct.......)
