Sound attenuating earmuffs

/ Sound attenuating earmuffs #11
FYI,
I got myself a set of Worktunes headphones for 60 bucks at Christmas. If you'd rather listen to the radio/ music/ sports then these work well. I know some guys don't like them as the signal goes in and out a bit. So what, I didn't like the sound of my mower and tractor at 2500 rpms either. Now that I have a canopy, the sound is even louder. I listen to Brahms Requiem and mow the grass, good deal.

I travel aks fly alot and I have a pair of the Bose headphones. I won them in a raffle so I tried them. They are amazing and they do block out the noises that cause fatigue and damage.

Around machinery its odd since the higher frequency and abrupt noises like a cun shot are blocked while the lower frequency and pitch sounds are not. Hence on the tractor, you'll hear sounds that you'd never hear with them off and the deck or engine running.

The cost difference in all of them is related to the range of frequency it can block and the technology of the processor that handles it. Use a cheap pair and a high end pair side by side and the difference is night and day. Especially when you pipe music into them.

Another way to tell ok from great models is to listen for the soft sea shell sounds, the cheaper ones will actually produce too much white noise and the result is a slight wooshing sound.
