Can I keep it?



A section of spring tooth harrow (I believe). Somehow going to affix the springs to a bar / pipe that can be quickly attached to the FEL with the points down to "rake" the woods after clearing to get the small trees / brush pulled out. Hopefully will be able to flip the bar over and use the same attachment to push the brush up into a pile to burn.

What would you use it for?

I would use it to rip the grasses each Spring to help control the KR Bluestem grass that is taking over so many hayfields around here! I think it would be better suited to my land than a disc. I have a lot of rock, and the disc would just roll over the rock and miss the grass portions. I could be wrong, but I think the spring tooth harrow would do me a better job.

Well this piece is only 32 inches wide, you might be out there a while

Yes, but I would be covering rugged areas and also need to get into tight spaces. Not sure I could manage with something 6 feet wide, for that purpose, like I can with a brush hog! But 3 feet would be better!

Your wanting one in Texas and me having one in Canada makes it cost prohibitive. Shipping would cost you way more than what they are worth to begin with. There has got to be some spring tooth harrows in Texas, somewhere.

It appears to have been a horse implement ???
If so, now you have to build a 3pt adapter to bolt it to so you don't have to cut, drill, weld on it to preserve the antique value...
It appears adjustable for depth of cut... So you should be able to control rock and root entanglement issues and the like...

Post pictures and results of how it works...
