M7040
Upgraded from a l3600 open station, with 68" rear blower. Got a m7040 cab with front 84" blower. Upgraded to rear mount 84".

The cab is great. Driving forward was good, but I need the loader at least once a week.

That front mount was a beast.
Was it powered by the rear PTO?

When I saw what was required to hook up a front blower on the Kubota I was looking at or the LS I wound up getting, I said "NO WAY". I do not get as much snow as you do in the UP so I went with a 74" pull type blower on the 3PH. It has worked very well and it leaves the SSQA available for a blade, bucket, or forks as needed. Much better for my needs. BTW the front blower was over $7000 and i got the pull blower for $4k on sale.

Yup. The front mount came as a package with the tractor. It's now listed on Facebook for sale. I hope it goes goodbye. It's great, but really eliminates using the loader. I picked up the Kubota blower, added the hydraulic deflector, and just added a second remote on the tractor to operate it. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about the old tractor and blower, and i know this twice the hp, but this tractor and rear blower just makes me smile using it.

That’s a nice set up. Like you, I like to keep my loader on the tractor all season and so I went with a three point rear blower as well. I did look at the Erskine 87 inch model like you pictured but it was 10 grand and that wasn’t gonna work! I’ve been super happy with the rear blower. I think on the larger tractors like you have and I have the cab is big enough that turning around to blow backwards is no big deal. In fact, I have much more maneuverability with the blower being so close to the turning axis then I would if it was hanging out in the front. What part of the UP are you in? I’m over in Chatham. We’re sitting out about 140 inches of snow so far this year. Or I should say, sitting under…

Thanks, I am really liking the tractor. Chatham? We might as well be neighbors. I'm in Rumely. This is our second winter here, but I don't think last winter counts. We only moved from around harvey, but the snow and wind are so different. Just still learning the best way to handle snow and drifting.

Nice indeed and also necessary in the UP.

Much less snow where I'm located. A front blower would be nice but I get away with a rear mount Woods SS74 behind my L6060 HSTC. The cab mirrors allow me to operate in reverse while facing forward most of the time.

I have Jeep mirrors mounted to the FEL frame of my MX5800 open station. They also allow me to blow snow with the SS74 while facing forward.

Might not be so convenient if we had as much snow as you though.
