Snowblower Snowblower Setup

I'm servicing my old 6 ft McKee (3ph) snowblower. I would like to know how much tension there should be in the drive chain.

I lube and adjust mine every year. I keep about 1/2" play up and down on the chain. Too tight and the chain will stretch faster.

I just checked the manual for my Woods SS-52 blower, says to allow 1/4 inch of sag in the chain.

Thanks for the input fellas. I'll split the difference

I lube the chain with some summer chain saw bar oil before each use but I have been running the chain a bit too slack.
