Kubota Bx24, 2007
Hi. Now I will need to buy a snowblower to fit my BX24. Kubota has an org. 50inc front mounted one. Anyone has experience of this?
50inc. sound quite wide for 17hp on the PTO....?

Thanks for your input on this subject!

Hey Sam,
No not at all! On my BX23 I had the same one, model 2750 and let me be the first one to tell you, That was a snow eating machine! Did not matter if snow was heavy and wet, soft and fluffy or 24". It did not slow down at all! Kinda wish I had that machine now as I just woke up and we have about 16" of overnight snow on the ground, and It's still snowing in upstate N.Y. Guess I'll have to go to the barn and fire up my new B3200 with 60" bucket to do the driveway, no problem but high banks with be the norm. If weather pattern stays as is, may have to buy snow blower for It.

Kubota's blower is made by the same outfit that makes the one for M-F; mine's a Model 2360 for Massey's 2310 SCUT; I believe it's identical, except for mounting details, as the one for the BX.... And yes, they work very well.

The front mount blower is pricey because of the sub-frame/quick attach stuff, but I wouldn't be without it. Looks like I'll be using it very shortly....

Mine came with the electric chute controls; highly recommend that. Again, that was an expensive option... I had the "luxury" of ordering the whole package when I bought the tractor, so it maybe didn't hurt quite as much ... but I'm very glad now that I got it!:D

So what's with the "Sweden" part? Kan du talle Svenska?

irvingj,devildog1!
Thanks for your replys. Sounds I be ordering one, my dealer said that the quick hitch wasnt avaible for the BX24.I belive that it could be alot for work to mount and unmount without the quick hitch, or Im I missing something?

The (old guys) say that we havent had this much snow since 1905...Last saturday we got something like 40-50cm snow...

I put the 50" one on my BX24 and I'm here to tell you that it is amazing. Last winter I was chomping through 30-36 inches of snow and it throws it about 30 feet. It was expensive around $3000 but it was the best 3K I ever spent. You need the quick hitch.

sam,
You need the quick hitch for front hook up on the BX! I'm not sure but got to Kubota.com and see if a front mount snow blower is an option for your BX. Or you could go with a rear mount snow blower and leave your FEL on.

Get the dealer to clarify what he means by "not available". Sounds to me like he means he doesn't have one, but they certainly are "available" for that tractor.

I have a BX25 with the 2750D front mount blower.

It works even better than I expected, and takes me about an hour to do:
- 1200' of gravel driveway, 3 passes wide
- The mouth of the driveway to the road, clearing out what the plows put there
- 3 tennis court sized areas, (2 parking, 1 chickens)
- and a handful of paths around the house/outbuildings

Takes about an hour to do, whether its 3" or 12"

This morning was 12" of very heavy wet snow, and I was even able to point the discharge straight ahead and clear the snow + blowings, just had to take it a little slower.

I'd recommend buying 20 of each type of shear bolt. I've gone through at least that much (found a wood pile, found the 100' extension cord, picked up lots of big rocks in the driveway) They're a nothing part unless you don't have any, and then they appear to be everything.

It's an awesome machine, and I'm glad I didn't listen to "local wisdom" and get a plow truck or use the back blade.

Call Barlows and see if they can ship a quick hitch over to you. Should be simple enough to do

Great, Sam! When I bought my tractor, the blower was the main reason I got it. It was expensive, but I'd also say it was worth every ore! (Oh, I guess you folks are using euros now?)

Where are you in Sverige? Fyrtio ar igor Jag hadda en flycka-ven i Danderyd. Almost married her. Spent one summer water-skiing on Siljan.

Here's some pics of the quick-hitch; Kubota's is slightly different, but the same idea. You'll love it when you get it.

Have you considered a rear mount blower? They are not as comfortable to run but they allow the FEL to stay on and they are MUCH less money. Unlike with the front blower, there are numerous brands to choose from. I ended up with a 60" unit and am glad I didn't go any narrower.
