Just got this blower last week. John Deere blower MO3251 42". Appears I have broken the shear pin or pins. Are there 1 or 2? I can see a place for one on the right as I look into the blower. Can I go to the hardware store or do I need to go to dealer for a new shear pin? Thanks for any help. Tractor is a 1999 325.

not to complicated,
1 bolt to drive the 1 auger.

1/4 by 1" if i'm not mistaken,
probably grade 5 or 2,
not really sure.

there may be some extras bolted
to the back side of the snowthrower
also, check for them you may already
have them!

check out the picture, on some of the
blowers spares were on the end near the
belt drive.

Usually a grade 5 as it shears cleanly.

Grade 2 is soft and will burr and often skew making removal difficult, also tends to widen the holes.
You want a clean cut when that bolt shears!
Keep a suitable drift punch in your tractor tool box to drive out the pieces.
