So who's doing snow removal now with their tractors and what implements are you using. We're getting a hard snow today (late for here) and it's "supposed" to get up to 30" for the week. We'll see. I'm ready. Front plow and rear snowblower for the edges when the road starts to "narrow".....

Been a pretty mild winter so far here. Usually February is our snowiest month. I'm ready to plow with a 7 1/2' plow on front and a double auger blower on back. Supposed to be mid 50's here this weekend but eventually the snow will come.

View attachment 636406 . So far 5" and it's snowing hard. I will consider plowing in the morning if we have, at least, 8" and it's still snowing.

All I use is a snowblower. Our road goes up the side of a ridge so I run out of room fast if I plow. I also found that the plow just creates a nice hard berm when we have a melt between snows.

What kind of surface will you be removing snow from, Hombre?

Been nice mild winter here so far so no need for tractor just pickup with plow, but if old man winter decides to come visit front plow and rear scraper blade on the tractor.

Winter has been passing us by so far this season. I'm still using FEL with bucket and 3pt box blade. Told myself I'd have my 3pt blower by now, but for some reason I just haven't been motivated. Using what I have works, but it is by no means time efficient at all. If I was doing this commercially (which I don't), I'd be going hungry (well, that and no snow this year).

I think eventually I'll end up with a 3 pt blower and a FEL mounted angled blade (w/ 3rd function). Kind of holding off until after we buy another place and relocate. Want to see what the new layout ends up being as far as driveway and parking areas, to know what I have to work with. I also keep going back and forth on wanting either a 72" or 84" blower. I'd like the 84, but am a bit concerned if it ends up being too much for my 32 pto hp. Our snow is almost always dry due to the cold air temps, but we do get heavy (as in deep) snows, and lots of drifted snow due to our windy conditions. I'm right at 70-72" across at my back tires, so would like a little extra blower width with the 84. Plus the 84 sticking out farther will make it easier to get closer along side of things like parked vehicles and out buildings.

So I've been going back and forth between either the 72 or 84 Woodmaxx with hydraulic chute rotation and hyd angle deflector (cabbed tractor, with 2 remotes already). How has your 84" Woodmaxx been working for you on your 40 hp machine Hombre? Your snow is probably wetter than ours.

Front blade and a 74" pull blower on the back. First winter with this setup. Three events with about 4" each to far but 6-11" in this weekends forecast. We get 120-140" a year. Just under an acre of open area to clear and 250 yards of driveway. All level.

Very important to read opinions and experiences of others who get about the same amount and type of snow you encounter as well as the type of terrain they deal with. If I got less than 60" a year, I would not have invested in a blower. When I used a plow truck, 6' banks were normal.
