snow pusher / puller

Any chance we can get back to the snow pusher? I'm wondering if it is better than a plow or snowblower in most situations?

Sorry no snow here yet. (Nov 19). Maybe later this week.

I think it will be better because:

Less moving parts to break
Holds more snow with less spill off
Makes the tc 2' shorter than with my plow for better turning
No electrical connections like on the blower
The trip edge will not spill the load of snow but will continue over obstacles
The extendable wings will allow me to clear large areas quickly during light accumulations

I'll be sure to post during the first snowfall.

Well, we had our first snowfall here this year. 3" of heavy wet slush. We are expecting 12" tommorrow.

the pusher is excellent. It made me an estimated 40% faster than my 7.5' plow that i used last year. It handles large volumes of snow and the tc pushed well. it was easy to see all the edges and so easy to use.

being able to zoom out to 10' is great because no snow spills out the sides. With just a flick of the switch, bring it in to 6' and squeeze between stuff or for pushing really deep snow.

being able to adjust the width of the pusher to any driveway is great. most can be done in one or at most 2 passes. (that's almost 20 feet wide!)

Having a polyurethane backdrag edge really protects the drives and the stainless steel pusher edge cleans well. (it does not clean quite as well as my blade as the pusher wings float the cutting edges more.

It pushed well in float mode or with me controlling the height. Backdragging is best done in float.

A buddy of mine had one on his tc for 2 years before i bought this one. he liked it also. I've included a pic of his red unit. Mine is black.

I do miss being able to angle the blade around corners but i'm getting used to it now.

I'll try to get some pics tommorrow.

if you had it extended to 8 ft in say 5 or 6 inches of snow how far do you think you could go before the snow would start spilling over the top or the tc could no longer push - say a 100ft straight part of a driveway?

how well can it backdrag snow away from a garage door that gets snow falling up to 2 ft deep from a overhead steel roof (the guy who built the house prior to us moving in pointed the darn roofs the wrong way - snow falls 3 ft from the doors after the sun comes out).

thx

Glad you got to test out that new multi-box/blade/puller in some real snow! Productivity is the name of the game on those big open parking lots.

Got about 4" here the other day....not enough to plow the dirt..

Still working on shipping....gave up with one broker, sure the other will come through.

Managed to put 46 hours of use on the pusher in the last few days. We had about 6" of really wet sticky stuff fall.

I did not get a chance to take pictures but I will in the next few days. I've got some big piles.

It will push a pretty big pile of snow. With the blade extended to 10', it will push a 3' deep pile that extends out 8 feet or more from the front of the machine. the trick is once the pile is moving, lift the blade 0.5" off the ground, and the pile will just slide along nicely. Can't stop though because you won't get it moving again. Several pushes were over 300 feet but once the blade is full it just spills off.
If the pile is too big, i just bring in the blade to 6' and chip away at the pile. I drove right through a pile that was stacked over the roof of the tc.

Backdragging is the real key to this blade. I felt comfortable (good visability) getting within 3" of garage doors. With a bit of down pressure it will clean right down to the pavement. 2-3' deep might require 2 passes. one to remove the bulk and a second for cleanup.

The blade is really more than the tc can use at 10' with a full load, but it sure makes quick work of light accumuations.

the blade also works really well in tight areas. it can be adjusted easily to fit any width of driveway, even on the fly.

I did spring a hydraulic leak today. It was just a loose fitting on one of the cylinders.
