Just thought I'd share a project that I finished up a few months ago. It has been a real work saver. I bought a 7.5' Western snow plow with the pump, mounting brackets for a J10, power angle and all for $100.00. I sold the pump and mounts for $125.00, and modified the plow to mount to my skid steer. I am running the power angle off of my auxiliary ports. I figure I have $150.00 into the whole project. We got about three inches of wet snow this morning, and this machine makes quick work of it.

That is a heck of a buy. Working pumps are worth more than plows in my area. I see them go for $500 all the time.

Looks great, you made it set setup for SS QA? so you can swap between plow and bucket easily.

Arbo,
You made out like a bandit on that deal!!! You did good.

If you guys can keep it a secret, those pumps on older Western/Fischer plows are nothing more than a Saginaw power steering pump with a remote tank, off 80's and earlier Mopars. I think GM used them too. Got one on one of my plow trucks right now.

The pump was a self contained unit, but it did not have the soelenoids. It was one of the older cable operated pumps that needed a soelenoid mounted under the hood. I sold it as is where is, as I didn't even test it.

The plow is SSQA Which I fabbed up myself. The plow has the original A-frame, and angle cylinders. It has three heavy trip springs. I have the plow frame on a ridgid mount to the SSQA, and use the float position on the machine.
