I have seem (some time ago) a snowblower were the guy put on caster wheels behind the snowblower (not on the side). He had the caster wheels set up so the blower cutting edge was about an inch of the ground. The casters would have to be wide to give some floatation in soft conditions. I have been toying with this caster wheels on my snowplows for my trucks for years. Its a little more complicated for a plow due to the trip edge. Hope this helps.

Derek,
What do you think of theses new plow have been on the market.
There like a clear plastic and heavier plastic cutting edge.
I would think between the minus cold weather and plowing into a frozen bank w/ ice there would be damage.
Notice more of these plow setup on smaller 4wd.

Do you use adjustable shoes on your plows?

Some of the NH state plows do have adjustable spring casters.

I had thought about casters on my Craftsman snowblower but was afraid they'd freeze up then wear into square shapes. The casters on our county plows are pretty large in diameter (~12").
