Hey Cougsfan - good to hear from you. Yes - last week some VERY close calls. But - thankfully - again today - RAIN. So far a steady drizzle - 0.14" - as of right now.

It doesn't smell like rain outside. It smells like dry grass soaking up the rain. Kind of like wet cardboard. I hope you are getting this rain also.

raining pretty good here last night and all day today. much needed moisture finally. should help the fires here.

Meanwhile, we've had several days of 2" of rain or more in recent weeks. Currently over 4 inches above normal for this month. July was 6 inches above normal. Lots of areas seeing record rainfall and flooding.

Too bad we can't shift it a few hundred miles.

As mentioned previously - if we got 2" in any 24 hour period - disaster. It rained again - yesterday afternoon and last night. 0.18 inches. A whole lot of difference between rain here and wherever Diggin It is located.

It's 50F this morning and no smoke.

Summer summary came out today. Around 20 inches of rain since May 30.

Since Jan 1 - EXACTLY 7.44 inches of moisture right here. That's snow and rain combined. Diggin It - I'd have completed my ARK - long ago - if we ever got anywhere near 20".

That's just Summer. We had over 17" in Spring (Mar-May) and over 15" in Winter (Nov-Jan), so over 50" since November. Yup over 4 FEET.

HMMMMM - now I know where some of OUR rain goes. You must get weary of wearing galoshes ALL the time.

I know I sure get tired of dust blowing up in my face - constantly.
