but with lots of water!
we're pretty dry this year, but from the looks
of this dig, no lack of ground water.
I was planning on doing this work myself,
but, didn't ever get the time. so once the
septic collapsed and i had to have a contractor in
anyways, i hired him to do the pond. here's the
before pic:

afford to pay the guy!

I don't get it???????

Did you put in a pond? or was it just a joke based on the amount of water in those ditches?

they seem to be working the area right in front of the? chicken coop? on the top of the hill

compair this with the before

in the upper right you can almost see the new lip of the dam

looks like it supposed to be a "pond" about 8' in diam? and a few feet deep....

Your right, I looked in his photo album under "Pond" and saw some pics of it there. Some of them are pretty good pics that show it being dug, the dam being created and it full of water. I have no clue why he didn't post those pics, but they are worth seeing.

allright allright,
here's an update:

i have an extension to add to the overflow pipe, but was told
to wait a couple weeks, and let the banks settle in a little.
that will bring the water up about another 18",, probably
8' deep in the middle.

i know, not a very impressive pond.. more of a puddle,
but it should landscape out pretty decent and
be nice when finished.

the "chicken coop" was there when I bought the house
2 years ago, i think it was a playhouse for the kids.
not sure what to do about it, but if the lot dries out
up there, i may be able to straighten it and put a big deck
on the front of it and a fridge inside!
