You glove solution may work, but anything that is durable is what you need to take up the gap, maybe some thick plastic. If the gloves don't last try something else and I'm sure you will eventually find something.

Yep, the left side had four plastic bumpers, the kind used for cabinets, and they held up for quite a while. They're still there with the glove finger between. I could use some old shoe leather if the glove stuff wears out too fast, but even if they last a month or so, I always have worn out work gloves around.

I used a small piece of 1/2” per pipe and shut the rops on it.

Like 5030 mentioned, a plastic washer at the hinge point and tighten it down well. I did that on my Kubota (2 on each tube) and it silenced the ROPS. Haven't had any noise all year. I usually leave it folded down, but it hasn't impeded folding back up when working on slopes.

Replace pins with bolts and just loosen when u want to fold it down (my NH has pins at the hinge point). Just a thought.
