Seems like I have an intermittent problem with my L3830. Some times I get a slow 5-10 sec delay in hydraulic pump action after a cold start up( cold being first start up of the day. I hear a groan and then all is fine. No loss of fluid, odor, poor response after initial problem, no warning lights. Fluid is UDT and new, filters changed. Have a loader on it. Seems like pump is starving or some relief valve is stuck ? Too many things to run down- any thoughts?

It sounds like there is a suction leak in the pump supply side and you are losing prime. Did you have the problem before the fluid change?

Yes this problem has been with me for a while. I had changed fluids and the pump problem was more pronounced with non UDT so I went back to it. I think that a suction leak could be what I need to check out. Thanks

I recall reading about just that- suction leaks, on other posts for Kubota tractors. A rubber return hose was causing the problem. Easy to fix, if that's it. No indication of the leak, since it is a non-pressurized return line. Good luck!

Hope it is- I do not see any leakage from the hose on the ground under the tractor when it is shut off.
