slow hydraulics

hi all i have a yanmar 336d tractor and the hydraulics are slow . never changed fluid or filter. in the winter i have to take a propane torch and heat the joy stick for raising or lowering the bucket . any help on chainging this would be great. second qwestion i have had to repair the stearing box where it bolts to the bell housing . the person that owend it be fore me did a hack job with sobe 1/2-13 threaded rod . i retaped it for 9/16-12 and used grade 5 bolts . be fore i place the deasle tank back in i want to change all rubber hoses . from the tank to the pump and on top of the injectors and back to the neck of the tank . if i change these out because they look brittle do i have to blead the system thanks from nh . bob

I would say go ahead and change the fluid and filter. Do you know how many hours since this was done?

As for the steering box, I don't think there was a question in there.

If you replace the line from the tank to the pump it will need bled. If you replace he return lines from the injectors back to the tank they will not need bled.

thanks for the reply . had tractor for 4 years and i never changed it . but will now . what do you think of tractor supplys travlers universal trans/ hydraulic fluid says its compatable for yanmar . i think while i have it in the garage will find out why brakes dont work. flipped shoes over about 3 1/2 years ago. but dont think i ajusted them kinda harry rolling backwards with no brakes
