Just saw this article about a potential pill for people with sleep apnea. I'm sure the list of side effects is a long one like any other prescription, but could be a game changer if it works.

I already got a bad and permanent side affect from some medicine that was supposed to keep me healthy.
Done with being a lab rat so some company can make a bundle.
CPAP keeps me going , so will stick with that.
No implants either.

Just recently a friend told me they were applying castor oil to their belly button which is held there with a special patch. This was done for a list of benefits, one of which was sleep.

As a reasonably informed person, at first I thought it was ludicrous because I had never heard of it before and I didn't see how it could do anything. However, I looked it up and tried it.

So there is no real research on it, but I feel like it improved my sleep and reduced my apnea. I can't prove it yet because I didn't sleep with a testing machine yet. However, judging by the drool on my pillow, I roll over less frequently and sleep deeper and feel like my apnea is less.

I'm not recommending this process, I'm just saying it's out there.

However, the patch is adhesive and pulling it off in the morning yanks out some belly hairs which hurts.

Yeah I'm not sure I would want to take a pill that has potential for 87 new ailments. I don't mind my mask at all and find the white noise of the machine comforting.

The most common adverse events in patients treated with AD109 were dry mouth, insomnia and nausea.

Since Insomnia is one of the main side effects, if you are not sleeping you don't have apnea!

I have noticed - as I've reached a more mature age - I seldom sleep in long stretches. Usually 4-5 hours at night. I supplement this with nice afternoon nap in my Laz-Boy. Much simpler and no drug induced side effects.

I have always snored some, but its gotten worse, to the point of being a problem, and I think mine comes from only being able to breath from 1 half of my nose. Got it broken a couple times as a kid. So, rather than spend thousands and go see a doctor, and then a specialist, then a sleep study, and then thousands on "deviated spetum" surgery, i use a mouth guard. Seems to help.

Not interested in a pill, but looking into the some kinda fitting in my mouth, my new dentist was talking to me about it, to help train/guide my lower jaw to keep my airway open ...

Would probably have to prove it works via another sleep study, already done 5! As my medical certification for my CDL (truck driver) says I have sleep apnea and being treated with CPAP. (So can't just stop using CPAP.)

In the same boat. Need to get recert every year stead of two in my state w sa.
Tried the mouth piece but dependent on the tissue sag in the throat, did not work for me and ended up choking which wakes you up.
Got a simple c pap mask that just covers my nose.
Was odd at first but our species adapts to just about anything.
Also, ridiculously expensive for the mouth piece.

I tried the over the nose and the "pads/cushions" or whatever they are called that cover just your nostrils ... I much prefer the full face mask, I tend to be a "mouth breather" ... !

I tried the full face but I’m a drooler so I could have drowned.
