Yes, it appears to be just over 1/2” to short. I was thinking the same thing about it always seem to be a issue with it having too much gap.

What I mentioned is another possibility that I ran into myself. Maybe the drawing below helps. There was a bead of weld inside the top flange that prevented the "paddle" from seating all the way up. Removing a small part of the paddle provided the needed clearance. The paddle profile remains unchanged and it works fine.

Of course it could be the plate is just too short.

I have had to grind out bits of weld up in the top pocket before. Most of them were "mistakes" that should have been identified at final inspection on a jig.

Definitely a bead of weld in the way. Approximately 1/2 inch wide. I attached the photograph again, the bead is clearly visible.

Also, I emailed the ebay seller and asked if this was his standard and he said it was. He has sold about 100 of these plates in the past year.

The weld bead is not the problem, it is in the wrong place that is causing the problem.

The plate is definitely too short.

Did the seller offer 30 day or 60 day free return shipping?

PayPal will cover up to $30 of return shipping.

^^I agree that in this case, according to the dimensions, it was welded WAY off. I would not do any grinding on the good part to adapt it to a odd-ball part. Get your money back!

I went out and measured my bucket, grapple bucket, and mower, all made by bobcat. With a quality thin machinist's 18" scale, from the top pocket point down to the bend, they all are about 15.85". All of the plates ride tight to the adapter too. I measured the top and bottom angles too. Top is about 45deg and the bottom is 120deg.

Also, there was no welding inside the top narrow angles.

That's an interesting point. I did have to modify the profile of the top of my paddles to fit the factory Kubota bucket. But. Now I have a second Kubota bucket, a Land Pride grapple, Titan forks, and two different aftermarket plates for home made implements. All fit within 1/16" or less.
