Size of hexagonal socket bolts on BX grill guard

Hi group.

I want to stop on the way home from work today to pick up a hex key socket or a set of them so that I have one that is large enough for the bolts that hold the grill guard on the BX tractors. Does anyone know the size of those bolts offhand, or at least know if they're either SAE or metric?

I'd say there most likley metric. I like the allen wrenches with a "ball" on the end of them. It allows you to use the tool at an angle.

Thanks for the guess, but I'm wondering if anyone knows. Is that a GN in your avatar?

The bolt is metric. The hex wrench size is 10mm, which was the largest size in my metric set.

The nut on the inside requires a 17mm wrench.

It's a monte ss, I've owned it for 11 yrs. now. It's a fun street/strip car, It runs 7.80's in the 1/8th

Mine dont take a wrench,i welded them to the frame so i didnt have the hassle

Quick job to remove it now without standing on my head

Excellent! I have an 87 Cutlass that I [honestly!] estimate at being a mid-13 car in the 1/4 mile. Of course, this was before it sat in my back yard not being driven for three years and now needs some work... It has an Olds 403 (small block) bored to 409 with all the typical goodness in it. I love love love the G bodies.
