Simple backhoe thumb

I have made a simple thumb for my backhoe using bits and pieces from my local scrap yard. I replaced the bucket pin with a longer with the same diameter (30 mm). I found two ends with 30 mm holes and welded them to two 10 mm thick straight sidepieces. The side are connected by two 15 mm bits as you can see in the pictures. An old top link is fitted between the thumb and the dipper arm. The thumb can be folded to the dipper arm.
I have been using it for lifting heavy rocks as you also can see.

Nice job! I like the top link feature. I made mine a little different with 2 settings, but I might just try your method if I need more adjustment.
