silly question? driveline maintenance

Doing fall clean up of the mid mount mower, noticed my driveline/universal joints and shaft are pretty gunked up. It wipes down easy enough, but it made me wonder whether any additional maintenance is in order or being a sealed uint is surface cleaning sufficient? Also, can I grease that shaft with regular multipurpose lithium grease, or is there something better? Thanks.

You might manage to download a maintenance manual for your mower on line. I have a Buhlrer rfm and it's very specific on what needs to be done and what types of greases and oils to use. The manual for my mower is available for download on the Buhler web site. The dealer didn't have one when I bought the mower.
