Mahindra 3016HST
Posted my negotiations on the 3016 on another thread, but thought I'd re-post here since it's a done deal as of this morning. Gave them a small amount down to hold it for me until I'm ready to have it delivered (house is not done yet). The remainder will be paid on the day I want them to deliver.

Negotiations went pretty well: 3016 HST with loader, skid steer quick connect, box blade, and shredder. Got the $800 discount for cash, and a $400 discount for the package deal. Negotiated the higher cost galvanized-dipped implements for the painted price, got them to weld clips on the bucket for free, and got them to throw in a grille guard for free. Total price $16,700. Also added pallet forks for $695.

I know they are making some money on the deal, but I want them to, that's what they are in business for. But on the other hand I don't want them to make a killing, and after doing quite a bit of pricing, I think this is a fair deal for both parties.

I'll post pics from delivery day. Also plan to video the instructions they give me so I can refer to it later if I didn't understand something correctly (this is my first tractor). Here are some pics from last time when I did the test ride (a walk around the tractor). Sorry for posting all the pics....:drink: I'll post some more...

Good looking tractor, but I am confused on 2 points. the first picture appears to be a different tractor? a gear tractor, as it has an accelerator pedal on the right floorboard., all the rest are of a hydrostat tractor. as you said in your post. And I assume the dealer is going to install the Skid Steer Quick Attach before delivery. Congratulations on your new machine.

Good catch, and correct on both points. The first pic was from a previous visit, and is the geared version, I went with the HST. I included the pic because it was a good pic of the whole tractor. And yes, they haven't installed the skid steer yet. They need to prep the tractor before delivery. And thanks, I'm excited about it, looking forward to all the fun! :D

Actually, first two pics are the geared version. I gave it a try, and I think I could have gotten used to it over time, but the HST was just so easy to use, that's what I went with.

Let me know how you like your quick attach mounts? Did they give you a quick attach bucket also?

That's the one option I wanted but did not get. I dont have any need for it either since I have no from bucket attachments.....but **** it's neat!

I wanted a Gear tractor also but I have changed my mind on the hydrostat. It works great for loader work and for mowing. If the grass is tall you can creep along and not bog the tractor.

Yeah, hopefully the skid steer will work great. I got it because I see changing between the bucket and the pallet forks fairly frequently. Otherwise I wouldn't have done it.

Good point on going really slow with the HST vs shift, when I test-rode the shift it was kind of herky-jerky for sure. But I learned to drive on a stick and figured I'd get the hang of it before long. But after riding the HST, it was just so easy and simple, allows 100% focus on everything else going on. So that's what I went with.

In my opinion good choices both the HST and the SSQA. But I am very biased:D. Or is it experience talking:laughing::laughing: Happy tractoring.
