As for the shade, they wanted $500 for a Mahindra brand, and I had already exceeded my budget. So I'm looking for a lower cost alternative - any ideas?

Regarding the tilt set, hadn't read about that, how does that work and do you know an approx cost?

Billy, nice tractor! Now here is a great canopy for your tractor: BARE-Co Standard Canopy & Swing Down Beacon I bought one in 2008 for my 2615. I got it from my Mahindra dealer for $320.00, and it has been well worth it. Very sturdy, strong construction, dent proof, sheds water away from the platform. It can be tilted, as well. Another plus, no drilling into your ROPS. The link mentions a swing down beacon, which I did not buy.
