HELP! Cannot for the life of me get the engine side panels or the grill on a 2710 to go back on. I've pushed, shoved and tapped them with a rubber mallet.
Are they suppose to slide back on eaisly? The little metal holders in the slots move up/down. Does their postion have something to do with it?
Can someone give me some advice before i get out a sledge hammer and put them back in place?
THANKS!

OH NO! /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif You didn't actually remove those side panels did you?

They are designed to come off but not go back on. You now must return your tractor to the dealer to have them reinstalled /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Seriously, the side panels require considerable force to "snap" back into place. I would not suggest resorting to the sledge hammer as mentioned, however a very serious "rap" with the heel of the hand is required to reattach those on my 7800.

Line them up carefully and give it a good whack with the hand and see if they don't return to their original position

Just be sure they're lined up right, both the tabs at the bottom as well as the top latches. And when they are, mine always went back pretty easily by just hitting them with the heel of my hand. Forget the hammers and mallets. And of course if you're just pushing against them, that doesn't work very well either.

There was a reason I said to be sure they're lined up right. It's called experience. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif Mine were contrary, too, until I figured that out. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
