Has anyone here ever built a hydraulic side link for their 3-point adjustment? If so, how did you weld the ends on a cylinder? Is a check valve neccessary to keep it from drifting? I realize I can purchase one from Carter & Carter for about $250, which may be the way to go in the end. The cheapskate in me says try it though. Whats your opinion? Thanks in advance.

Mine is home made. Bought the hydraulic and cut off the ends. cut the ends off of the factory side link. welded the top end onto the cylinder. Bored a hole through the clevis end, turned the rod down to size at the end so that clevis end was a press fit, and welded.

Probably don't really need to do all that stuff at the clevis end, could have just welded it.

Oh, and I would not want a check valve on mine, I sometimes put it in float mode and drag the ground smooth letting the blade move with the terrain of the ground.

Thanks Brian, I never thought about leaving it in float mode.
