Who makes a good 3 pt. sickle bar mower? You don't see many around anymore. I've checked alot of places and no one has them.

My neighbor has a 7ft Massey Ferguson 3PT sicklebar mower that I think is well put together. Im not sure if they still make that unit or not. You could try calling a local dealer for info !

Check with a Deere dealer. Their "Frontier" line offers a new sickle bar cutter. I understand it's a knock-off of the old New Holland 451 which is a great mower. Also, I believe New Holland still has an updated (read EXPENSIVE) version of that 451.

Befco makes a great sickle bar mower. Go to their website BEFCO, Lawn & ground care equipment and check for a dealer near you. There should be some dealers that advertise on TBN that sell them also.

New sickle bar mowers are quite pricey. I think a Befco model I looked at was 3 or 4 thousand $$$.

I've got over a $1K into my rebuilt 9' JD 350. Its a great cutter for my needs. I wish it could fit my 4310. Its not the weight or HP requirement. Its the need for my 3pt arms to reach out further behind the wheels and to spread wider to adapt to the cutter's frame.

I guess it depends on the applications you need to use it for. Most all of them will fit the tractor. Pitman mowers have a range of movement on the cutterbar that is approx 35 degrees above and below horizontal and beltdrive mowers will mow about 90 degrees above and about 70 degrees below horizontal and are generally more money than pitman types?--Ken Sweet

G&S Superior is Garabaldi and Salvia. Carter & Carter Machinery "CCM" in Johnson City, TN handles them. I just bought one and have cut about 25 acres -- it's am impressive mower. Has the normal limitations of any sickle bar -- does not like wet grass. This is a a belt drive that mows up to 90* and down to 65* from horizontal.

I was lucky enough to locate a IH 1300 7'in excellent condition for a little over $1200. It is a belt drive which allows you to cut up or down banks while tractor is on more level ground. I am pleased with the proformance on my NH TC29. Farmswithjunk may have more insite.
