Always love to see the stars and stripes properly displayed...

Flag threads pop up fairly often...many are gone because the subject drifted over the line...
IMO...whenever a (USA) flag thread is started it should link to or quote proper flag display etiquette rules...not following protocol is actually being disrespectful which sort of nixes the patriotic feeling displaying one gives...

The entire document should be read by anyone displaying the US flag...for one of the most frequent misconceptions see page 12 of the doc link below...

Thanks for that. Everyone should brush up on proper flag etiquette. I'd fly no flag before flying a United Nations flag. I would also serve time in the Brig before fighting under a UN Commander.

Funny, how the UN flag "apparently " depicts a flat earth. Just saying. I found that interesting.

Recently in Lowe's hardware and they had a US flag disposal 'station'. It was overflowing. It touched me a bit to see how many were bringing their old tattered flags in. As a scout, I learn a proper burning. I have several retired and folded properly. I think I will go to Lowe's an ask for their procedure.

It is not considered disrespectful to fly such a flag even during prolonged periods of inclement weather.

This is 8 months out of the year around here.

And sadly, we only have a month to go on the good side.

I think the Solar Light is gimmicky. Looks brighter in the photos then it actually is. It lasts all night now but doubtful when the temperatures drop. IMG_20180909_211444_hdr.jpgIMG_20180909_211159_hdr.jpg

With 2 eagle scouts been doing flag retirements for years . Most troops don't advertise that they do it and most people don't know what to do with their old flags. One guy gave us 12 flags . Last eagle ceremony we had 50 flags and many stories of loved ones that paid the ultimate price. I have a drawer gromets and strings from many special events. It's nice how people are moved by a proper flag retirement. Oh yea mine always flies proud.:drink:
