Should we do a 2 Million timeline countdown?

I don't know how you get that may posts a day if you hit the 24 hour button it has been right around 300 lately and that is what I based my guess on.

I check in the AM. and see 1,990,16X and then I check the next morning and see 800 or so per...

Ie on 6/13 at 7:27 AM there were 1,987,007 posts.

today is 6/16 3 days later at 7:15 AM and there are 1,990,177
3 days... 3,170 posts in 3 days...

So I think that 300 post in 24 hour counter just is not right...

If you read below-- I posted dates and times with the post count at that time..
so I believe the count is accurate...

Tomorrow morning I expect to see between 1,990,980 and 1,991,230

That would be on par with the last few days.

forgive me, I am a computer statistics kind of guy.....

another extrapolation:

the last post was at 7:18..
posts 1,990,16X

It is now 10.28
there are 1,990,377 posts now.
so that is a net gain of ~210 posts in 3 hours..
if we average that over 24 hours.. I could definately see the 1000 in 24 hours..
if we average 50 posts an hour ....

I respectfully disagree..
Please check the counter now.. and then come back at 5 PM and check the counter again...

right now I see:
1,990,406

and at 7:18 AM-- there were 1,990,167
So if at 5 PM it is at 1,990,800 that blows the count away..

I think the 24 hour counter is broke..

1,987,133 was on the 13th... that means we have had more than 3,000 posts in 3 days....

wait--- I see the difference!!!!

the 24 hours lists # of threads NOT the number of posts!!!!


so for example this thread has had more than 10 posts in the last 24 hours..
BUT it only shows up once on the THREADS in the last 24 hours!!!

so we are all 3 right...
IE threads updated in 24 hours is right... Less than or about 300..
posts about 1000 every 24 hours....

Yes it could be threads or posts I never though of it before the number has steadily been inching up over the last 2 years I can remember when it hovered around 200 not it is ususlly over 300.

i never did the math on the top line.

Yep, you guys are about right with the 1,000 per day number---up and down during the week, we see 800-1200 posts per day so figure another ~10 days from now.

So I would say that it only shows threads...
and the vulcan in me comes out----
If it was all the posts in the last 24 hours I should have like 30 posts on there alone..
But since my name only appears once or twice on threads that I am not the last poster....
