When I start up for the day I always check the gauges for oil pressure and fuel. Then don't pay much attention after that, I'm usually only running 20 - 40 minutes at a shot anyway. So today, I'm hoggin the perimeter of the yard and woods and Blue just kinda dies. WTH? Look at the guages , not hot, fuel full, but wait a sec....when was the last time I actually put fuel in it? Well folks, it's been long enough that I can't remember when it was....not that that means much anymore, I have trouble remembering my name some mornings, good thing I have an ID badge for work to remind me...

Got the "ventless" (insert your own adjectives here) yellow can and dropped five gallons in her, had to open the bleeder to get it started again. So now I have another project...

Is the float stuck, wire shorted? And just how much do I need to take apart to find out? Ahhhhh, the country life....

I feel your pain!

Got up in son's new house this morning after nap from taking care of grandson with medical issues all night.

Son alerted me to issue with freezer being out in backup fridge/freezer. Moved meat and ice cream to another freezer.

Daughter-in-law starts breakfast...built in microwave (new house) completely dies...power is at plug but NO lights on control panel or under counter. Conclusion: it's dead, Fred.

Tried to start vehicle to go home.... sounds like starter is out, engine not turning over. Not battery because it was replaced yesterday. Made 40 mile round trip to ranch to get flatbed/pickup to haul away vehicle to workshop to install newly acquired starter. Lined all up to winch vehicle onto flatbed, gave it one last chance to start.....it DID...well, kinda....running extremely rough even after 5 minutes. Put in 4wd and drove onto flatbed. Conclusion: needs new starter AND something additional is wrong with fuel/ignition system. Not fuel pump or spark plugs or oxygen sensor, all replaced within the week.

Conclusion: should have stayed in bed, it's gremlin day!!:confused2:

I'm glad I stayed in the house all day; too wet to do anything anyway; wonder if it will be safe tomorrow...

The first three signs of old age are loss of memory and...I can't remember the other one...

Well I cut some firewood today, not myself so that's good. Laid some turf in a few bald spots, lucky it doesn't have to go on my head. Then it started raining, so plans for the day get moved to Monday or Tuesday.
It is a bummer when things go wrong, can make for a tough day.
Glad you survived your day.
And on the bright side you did get it started after runing dry. :):):)
Hopefully you are not getting all that rain :( that is somewhere in your area, sounds nasty.

The closer the ambient temp gets to 40 degrees, The warmer the freezer will become. Below 40 degrees the freezer will be at the ambient temp in the room. That is how most of them work. They are not recommended for use in a unheated room.

For a fridge freezer combo, that is mostly correct. But for a Stand alone freezer, they are fine to use in an unheated space as long as the ambient temp is above the temp that the freezer is set at. They are heat pumps, and as long as the inside of the freezer is warmer than evaporator(inside the fridge), heat will be transferred to the coolant in the evaporator. Then, as long as the condenser(on the outside of the fridge) is warmer than the ambient air, it will loose heat to the air. I have a stand alone freezer in my garage and have never had a problem with it here in MI.

My old microwave failed to start one day this past winter...totally dead... and I did the same, checked for voltage at the receptacle...120V... so I figured the microwave had finally died. On a whim I decided to take the cover off, just to have a look-see at what all was inside, just in case there was something worth salvaging. Lo and behold, what should I find? A friggin fuse! It was bad, of course, and when I went through my stock of fuses I found a 14A instead of the factory 13A one, so I popped it in and voila! Everything worked on it and still is! :)

The point of my ramblings is, you might want to have a look for a fuse somewheres on the daughter-in-law's microwave before you get excited about replacing it.

Month of March this year the micro wave and kitchen stove quit both electronics board gone so new items. then the dish washer and coffee pot in kitchen failed. replaced. along with the computer quitting .
Then the heat pump failed called the serviceman to check. opening the panel of out side unit said lightening. and the old unit had the old freon so inside air handler needed change out also. Now beginning to wonder does this all tie together . Have the power meter protection to stop the electrical spikes. good ground rods .

WOW, and I though I was the only one going through all this. Our oven is acting up and you have to turn it back on about every 1-5 minutes when baking or broiling. Dryer won't make up it's mind which way the timer knob wants to turn when running. Actually it does, it goes to which ever end of the timer is closest 90% of the time. Water pump on the car started leaking. Keep wondering what's next.:confused2:
