I use a BX24 with a blade to move my snow. To set the height of the blade you stack up washers under the mount for the post. Currently, when I want to change the number of washers I have to raise the blade, then angle it to get enough clearance to remove the skid/post and adjust the washers. I can only do one side at a time. Not a big deal, but an annoyance.
It finally dawned on me if I cut an inch off each post and redrilled the keeper hole I would have enough clearance to adjust the washers without angling the blade. I can't see any downside as there is a lot of extra post. Am I missing something? The only issue I could anticipate is if the post is hardened. If it is I may give up on this idea. I would drill the new hole before I cut it off.
Appreciate the input.
