So I have been putting this off for a while because I knew what a can of worms I was opening. The space on the left was dead office space and now more shop floor space and the framed in space on the right is a kitchen and bathroom. The T1-11 wall is now down and the floor up there is being extended out 10 more feet to give me a 22x30 second floor. Plans call for a steel beam across the front of the new floor to support it with no post under it.. I think I'm going to see if 3 microlams can do that instead. ..span is 26-6"

A flitch beam is another option. That’s a good span no matter what you end up using.

Hadn't thought about that route, I think that may be a good idea. And easier to lift into place piece by piece.
