Shop Ideas thread

I just found TractorByNet a short time ago. I think it is an awesome site. I have learned a lot reading about what motivates us/you. Kudos to all who participate.

Yesterday I was looking at a thread I found responding to a quiry about what you guys would suggest be considered/built into a shop.

Guess what I am looking at building............

Anyway, I can't find that thread! If one of you knows where it is, or can suggest where I might look, I would appreciate it.

My wife and I have owned 20 acres in south/central Oregon. We have a hobby colored wool sheep ranch (between 2-30 sheep). I retired two years ago as a primary school Alternative Education teacher, using my income as a teacher to suppliment the ranch.

Welcome, I feel the same way about this site! Lots of people with lots of experience willing to impart it to others, can't beat it.

What specifically is your shope going to be used for? Shearing/taking care of your sheep? Woodworking? Welding? Man Cave? All or none of the above?

I suppose one thing that is going to be needed no matter what it is used for is storage, you can never possibly have enough storage space.

Do you know the story about if you can't find a tool, go buy another one. You surely will find what is "lost" when you get home with the new one? Well, sure enough. It was about 10 minutes later when I found the thread I couldn't find!

I have a rather small wooden floor shop now. I need something with a cement floor, and insulated so I can putz out there in the winter.

Since retiring, my "welding" gene is resurfacing, and I have no place to weld, or work on my Kubota. I probably will add on to the shop I have.

I understand this is supposed to be an area for tractor projects. But........ ................Thanks

Afternoon Chuck,
Welcome tom TBN !!! Lots of helpfull info on this site, whether archived or active ! As Rob mentions many great barn/garage/shop threads by a number of talented guys on the forum !

BTW just last night I went over to TBN member " Bialecki" home and shop and one thing that caught my eye was his shop heater ! Hopefully he will see this thread and give you some info on it, nothin worse than a cold shop !
