Yep, it is a suspension seat. After sitting at the dealer before the sale, and never seeing use, they seize up. Once broke free, its much better. If that isnt enough for you, go slower. IMO, once the seat is freed up, thats all you need. If it still feels too rough, then you are being too rough on the tractor and likely to break something. Kinda a good indicator.
Ah, I don't think the one on my L is a suspension seat, it just has the two springs under the rear of the seat, IIRC.![]()

K0ua just said it mildly about getting the L3400 suspension seat broken loose. I just want to emphasize - you'll want to do Super Stomps to break that sucker loose. It took me several tries, taking the seat off, soaking with solvent, beating on it, stomping on it - doing everything short of setting it on fire, before I got mine broke loose.
Once accomplished though, it was like a different ride. Definitely worth the effort, but don't expect it to be a mild effort.
