Small shock that holds up hood of McCormick/Farmall CT41 tractor

Looking to buy a replacement shock absorber that holds up the hood of my McCormick/Farmall CT-41 tractor. It doesn't hold it up anymore. Any ideas would be appreciated! Thanks

I've been known to cut a stick or piece of irrigation pipe to the correct length when that happens to me. If that's not elegant enough for you try buying and installing a new gas strut. Yours is leaking.

Take the strut to NAPA or similar. They should be able to cross one

You may even find some of the info about the strut on body of it. There's usually some info there.

If you have any Autozone stores where you live, they had a strut section, similar to a wiper blade display. Just match one up and go.

You might also like to try a local search for businesses that offer to "Re-Gas" your exisiting gas strut(s).
Often they are mobile units which come to you. Some shops perform 'Gas Strut Re-Gassing' here, also.
Possibly a cheaper option ...
