New to the site, and glad to be here. I have been researching mulching business for over a year now, and have gone through all past threads lots of good info! Thought I was set on RC100 w/ gyro head, until I stumbled across Land Clearing Attachments, Excavator Mounted Cutter Heads, Mulcher, Tree Chippper has anyone had any experiences w/ their skid steer head. Salesman said teeth have 4 cutting edges, and can be rotated as the leading edges become worn. Also said they have tooth exchange system where they will give you $10 a tooth exchange, for new tooth at $22, said total price just over 30k. I have talked w/ a guy that is running an RC w/ gyro, and he said he is getting around 200 hrs out of his teeth, I have watched his machine run, along w/ fecon and tushogg heads, and the gyro seemed to be far superior. I am located in East Texas, mixture of hardwoods, and pine, but not much surface rock maybe that is why the teeth are holding up better. Getting back to the topic guy running the gyro said only complaint is hi temp. his machine commonly runs at 220, that seems awfull hot to me, and he blows out the radiator several times a day. I was planning on getting a reversing fan, but shinn's integrated cooler seems like a good idea however it looks like it will probably get clogged being right there on the head. The tooth layout looks good, and uses sharp tools like gyro and timber-ax which is what I want. What do yall think, anybody have one of these?
