I've got a shift lever (right side) on my 2008 5103 that has frozen on very cold days (<30deg). No amount of tugging will free it. After weather warms up to 40deg or more it will finally work. Other than that it works normal. Rubber boot has been torn and I have a replacement for it but I haven't had a chance to replace it yet. I believe I've got some water infiltration on the shift lever and am wondering how bad it will be to fix. How hard is it to remove the lever and clean to remove the water so this doesn't happen again?

Thanks, Sorry for the delay on getting back as its been one of those weeks. As Kenny said pretty much that is what I'm planning to do. I've got the service manual and it doesn't seem to difficult to take that the shift lever apart. Now if it would quit raining for a few days so I can get to it. Also I still need to order any gaskets for the assembly. My own fault as I've had the boot to replace the broken one but not the time to replace it. It's also odd that the boot would develope holes in it over just 2 years.
