Shibaura LE892 rebuild or replace

HI i have a shibaura LE 892 1.3 lt tractor engine i am thinking of trying to swap out to another small diesel engine which i might be able to adapt to fit my ford 1700 tractor could they please advice me . The LE 892 is a two cylinder 25 hp. would use a larger capacity engine it possible.

Suggest checking and comparing part numbers for bellhousings clutches etc. for your model versus other Shibaura made Fords from around the same era to see if potential motors will bolt up to your drivetrain. Tractordata and Messicks' websites may be helpful here. The next model up 1710 had a 1.4L 3 cylinder. Adding a cylinder adds length which can cause issues with motor mount location, radiator clearance, etc. and depending on the displacement difference and your climate may need a larger radiator.
